Borough Female
Next door to the Carnegie Library were the New Borough Female Schools (now Youth Reach) which were built in 1890. The school was closed in 1966. It re-opened in 1972 as a temporary school for St Cronan’s Brackenstown. St Colmcille’s BNS had classes in this building until 1986. County Dublin VEC bought the premises in the late 1980s and it is now being used by Youth Reach.
